Understanding the Inventory process and Road Inventory Field Data System - June 12-14, 2018

This course provides an introduction to the inventory process under the Tribal Transportation Program. The course will also provide hands on experience to the Road Inventory Field Data System. The course will cover a historical context of the inventory and discuss current changes. We will cover basic definitions and terminology used in the Tribal Transportation Program and become familiar with theTTP inventory field data forms and the BIA coding guide. Students will go to the field to gain experience collecting TTP inventory data. Students then return to the classroom to finalize the field data forms for submittal and inclusion in the Road Inventory Field Data System (RIFDS).

The Bureau of Indian Affairs DOT department will provide RIFDS laptops during the course.
